ETS converts the number of correct answers into scaled scores. The precise raw-to-scaled conversion can vary between test forms so that results remain comparable. This page therefore separates official score ranges from the rough practice estimator below.
Enter the number of correct Listening and Reading answers. The result is deliberately shown as a range because a practice calculator cannot reproduce the official form-specific conversion.
These are guideline minimum thresholds used to interpret TOEIC Listening and Reading results. Institutions may set their own admission, graduation or recruitment requirements.
| CEFR | Minimum total | Minimum Listening | Minimum Reading | Practical interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| < A1 | 10–119 | — | — | Below A1 guideline |
| A1 | 120 | 60 | 60 | Basic recognition of familiar words and simple information. |
| A2 | 225 | 110 | 115 | Basic communication and understanding of common everyday information. |
| B1 | 550 | 275 | 275 | Independent understanding of routine workplace and everyday English. |
| B2 | 785 | 400 | 385 | Strong independent understanding of more detailed professional English. |
| C1 | 945 | 490 | 455 | Advanced comprehension of demanding professional and academic English. |

A score of 750 is normally within the B1 range and close to the B2 guideline threshold of 785.
850
A score of 850 is within the B2 guideline range and shows strong independent comprehension.
900
A score of 900 is a high B2-range result, but it remains below the C1 guideline threshold of 945.
950

Listening and Reading each contain 100 questions. Correct answers are converted to a scaled score from 5 to 495 per section. The two scores are added for a total from 10 to 990.
No single public table applies perfectly to every test form. ETS uses statistical conversion procedures, and the exact raw-to-scaled relationship may vary between forms.
A total score of 750 is normally interpreted within the B1 guideline range and is close to the B2 total threshold of 785. Section scores should also be considered.
A score of 850 is within the B2 guideline range and is a strong result for many academic and professional objectives. The required score still depends on the institution or employer.
A mini test can provide a useful starting estimate and identify weaknesses, but it cannot reproduce the length, statistical conversion or testing conditions of the official exam.
